    Care Guidelines

    Marine Aquarium Setup:
The Bicolour Blenny thrives in tanks of at least 100 liters with plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding. These fish enjoy perching on rock surfaces and darting into crevices when startled. Provide a well-established aquarium with algae growth, as they are natural algae grazers. A secure lid is recommended, as they are known to jump.

    Water Parameters:

    • Temperature: 24°C – 27°C
    • pH Range: 8.1 – 8.4
    • Salinity: 1.023 – 1.025 SG
    • Water Hardness: 8 – 12 dKH

    Diet:
Bicolour Blennies are primarily herbivores and thrive on a diet rich in plant matter. Offer marine algae, spirulina, and herbivore-specific pellets or flakes. Supplement their diet with blanched vegetables like spinach or zucchini, and they may occasionally nibble on naturally occurring algae in the tank. Feed them 2–3 times daily in small amounts.

    Behavior and Compatibility:
This peaceful fish is an excellent addition to community tanks. It gets along well with other peaceful or semi-aggressive species, such as clownfish, gobies, and wrasses. Avoid housing them with aggressive fish or other bottom-dwelling species that may compete for hiding spots. They are reef-safe and pose no threat to corals or invertebrates.

    Growth and Maintenance:

Bicolour Blennies grow up to 10 cm and are hardy with proper care. Perform regular water changes and maintain stable water parameters to ensure their health. Their algae-grazing behavior helps control algae growth, making them a practical and decorative addition to marine aquariums.
