    • Common Names: Assorted Gourami
    • Origin: Southeast Asia
    • Diet: Omnivore
    • Maximum Size: 5–12 cm (depending on species)

    • Care Level: Easy

    Care Guidelines

    Aquarium Setup:
Assorted Gouramis thrive in tanks of at least 60 liters, with plenty of plants, rocks, and driftwood to provide hiding spots and surface cover. A gentle water flow and a well-planted environment mimic their natural habitats. Gouramis are labyrinth fish, so ensure they have access to the water surface to breathe.

    Water Parameters:

    • Temperature: 22°C – 28°C
    • pH Range: 6.0 – 7.5
    • Water Hardness: Soft to moderately hard (4 – 12 dGH)

    Diet:
Gouramis are omnivorous and enjoy a varied diet. Offer high-quality flakes or pellets as a staple, supplemented with live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms. Include vegetable matter, such as spirulina or blanched spinach, for a balanced diet.

    Behavior and Compatibility:
Gouramis are generally peaceful, but some species or individuals may show mild territorial behavior, especially during breeding. They are compatible with other peaceful tankmates, such as tetras, rasboras, Corydoras, and smaller loaches. Avoid housing them with fin-nipping or aggressive species.

    Growth and Maintenance:

Depending on the species, Gouramis grow to 5–12 cm and are relatively low-maintenance. Regular water changes, a balanced diet, and a stable environment will keep them healthy and vibrant. Their hardy nature makes them well-suited for beginner and experienced aquarists alike.
