While we make every effort to ensure that our online stock levels are accurate and up to date, some products—particularly those that are perishable or subject to daily changes—may vary in availability. This includes livestock, fish, corals, and both fresh and frozen foods. Due to the nature of these items and their dependence on factors such as shipment schedules, health status, and in-store demand, availability can change rapidly and may not always be reflected in real time on our website.
To avoid disappointment, we strongly encourage customers to confirm the availability of these products before placing an order or visiting In-Store. You can do this easily by using the "Ask a Question" tab on the product page or by calling us directly on 0460 961 696 .

Graceful and eye-catching, the Orange-Lined Angelfish (Centropyge eibli), also known as Eibli’s Angelfish or the Red Stripe Angelfish, is a beautiful dwarf angel species prized for its bold appearance and manageable size. Its silvery-grey body is patterned with striking orange vertical stripes, complemented by a bright orange tail, making it stand out in any marine aquarium.
This angelfish is generally hardy and adapts well to a variety of marine setups, making it a popular choice for aquarists seeking both beauty and durability.
Species: Centropyge eibli
Common Names: Orange-Lined Angelfish, Eibli’s Angelfish, Red Stripe Angelfish
Origin: Indo-Pacific – found around Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and throughout Indonesia
Light Requirements: Moderate to high – does well in reef-capable lighting systems
Diet: Omnivorous – feeds on marine algae, spirulina, mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, and sponge-based angelfish diets
Maximum Size: 12–15 cm
Temperament: Semi-aggressive – may be territorial with other dwarf angels
Care Level: Moderate
Aquarium Setup:
Best kept in aquariums of at least 250 litres with plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding. This species thrives in mature tanks with established algae growth. A secure lid is advised as angelfish are known jumpers. While Centropyge eibli is one of the more adaptable dwarf angels, it may occasionally nip at large-polyp stony corals, soft corals, or clam mantles, so consider reef-compatibility carefully.
Water Parameters:
Temperature: 24–27°C
pH: 8.1–8.4
Salinity: 1.020–1.025
Hardness: 8–12 dKH
Growth and Maintenance:
Orange-Lined Angelfish are relatively hardy once settled, but they do best in stable, well-maintained systems with varied diet and ample swimming space. Their vibrant colouration intensifies with proper feeding, especially diets that include marine algae and sponge content.
Care Tips:
✔ Provide extensive live rock for grazing and shelter
✔ Keep singly, unless housed in a very large tank
✔ Offer multiple small feedings daily
✔ Watch for coral nipping in reef aquariums
✔ Acclimate slowly to reduce stress during introduction
Compatibility:
Suited for mixed community marine aquariums with semi-aggressive fish such as tangs, wrasses, gobies, and dwarf lionfish. Avoid housing with other dwarf angelfish unless the system is very large and carefully structured.
Availability:
Readily available in the Australian marine aquarium trade, particularly through specialist marine retailers.
