While we make every effort to ensure that our online stock levels are accurate and up to date, some products—particularly those that are perishable or subject to daily changes—may vary in availability. This includes livestock, fish, corals, and both fresh and frozen foods. Due to the nature of these items and their dependence on factors such as shipment schedules, health status, and in-store demand, availability can change rapidly and may not always be reflected in real time on our website.
To avoid disappointment, we strongly encourage customers to confirm the availability of these products before placing an order or visiting In-Store. You can do this easily by using the "Ask a Question" tab on the product page or by calling us directly on 0460 961 696 .

With flowing fins and bold marbling, the Longfin Marble Bristlenose Catfish is a show-stopping twist on one of the hobby’s most useful aquarium residents. This variety combines the algae-eating efficiency of the classic Bristlenose with a dramatic marbled colouration—typically a mix of gold, brown, and black—and extended, veil-like finnage that sways gracefully along the bottom of the tank.
It’s peaceful, hardy, easy to feed, and absolutely stunning in motion—ideal for planted and community aquariums.
Aquarium Setup:
A minimum of 70 litres is recommended. Provide smooth driftwood, caves, and hiding spots for shelter and grazing. A soft sand or rounded gravel substrate protects delicate fins. Gentle filtration and low to moderate water flow will best showcase its elegant fin extensions.
Water Parameters:
Temperature: 22–28°C
pH: 6.5–7.5
Hardness: 4–15 dGH
Growth and Maintenance:
This morph matures slowly and can live 5–10 years. Long fins are more susceptible to damage from aggressive tankmates or rough decor, so choose peaceful companions and smooth ornaments. Maintain high water quality to prevent fin rot and support healthy growth. Males will develop facial bristles and may display mild territorial behaviour—provide multiple hiding spaces if keeping more than one male.
Care Tips:
✔ Feed a varied plant-based diet
✔ Avoid fast-flowing water or sharp decor
✔ Driftwood is beneficial for digestion and hiding
✔ Perform regular water changes to support fin health
✔ Observe for fin damage in high-traffic or aggressive tanks
Compatibility:
Excellent for peaceful community aquariums. Compatible with tetras, livebearers, gouramis, rasboras, dwarf cichlids, and other non-aggressive fish. Avoid fin-nippers or fast-swimming tankmates that may stress or damage the long fins.
Availability:
Widely available as a captive-bred morph. Popular among aquarists for both their aesthetic appeal and their practical algae-eating behaviour.
